About Sheryl

Sheryl Benson is an intuitive healer/trainer who has been working with animals since she was 3 years old. She is a Reiki Master Teacher, Zen Shiatsu Therapist, and Feng Shui consultant in practice for over 13 years. Dogs have been her lifelong companions. She began working with horses in college and has been involved in obedience training with her own dogs for the last 17 years and is currently training her two 3 year olds, a Border Collie and a Border terrier in competitive obedience, agility and tracking.

Her philosophy around animals, both companions and wild, is that they are our partners in this life. Her frame is that their ways of learning/understanding and ours simply requires a communication bridge.

Sheryl uses her many tools of energy healing, intuitive knowing and long-term experience in various methods of working/training with animals. With her gifts, Sheryl is able to isolate the energetic imbalance within the being and the environment. This energetic imbalance may be the result of previous handling by a human, circumstances related to the development in the womb, the birth/nurture experience or the make up of the pack, just to name some possibilities. As Sheryl works directly with the animals through Reiki, Flower Essences, and Communication, she is also assessing the other factors in the environment, such as other animals in the household, the human factor and the living space itself.

After many years of successfully treating human energy imbalances, she found that the environments in which people live and work greatly affect their ability to maintain their newfound health and focus. Incorporating the ancient art of Feng Shui, Sheryl works with the home environment of the animal to support its new focus. Just as we humans find the environment that we live in to be increasingly stressful, so do our animal partners, who by their very structure, actually have a closer link to the earth. Some of the changes suggested may range from the type of bedding -- to creating a definitive space for nurture using color and texture to provide balance.

Sessions with Sheryl begin with an initial evaluation, which consists of:

• A telephone discussion with the human partner to identify the issues and concerns from the human perspective.
• Consultation with animal partner.
• An email synopsis of the information received with specific suggestions and instructions on how to improve your partnership, behavioral issues, health and nutritional directives.

After the initial session, a progression of treatment/training is discussed.

Often a being will require Reiki, Shiatsu, and Flower Essences for three or more consecutive sessions to bring in their natural focus plus specific training exercises.

For those located outside of Cape Cod, these consultations are offered via telephone or email. If you are located on Cape Cod, Sheryl can provide these sessions in the comfort of your companion’s own environment.
